Kenny Benjamin appointed bowling coach for the West Indies men’s cricket team

Former West Indies pacer Kenny Benjamin has been appointed bowling coach for the West Indies men’s cricket team ahead of the squad’s departure for the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe and South Africa in February and March.

Benjamin who will work alongside interim head coach Jamaica’s Andre Coley will be aided by Rayon Griffith the current head coach of the Guyana Amazon Warriors, who continues in his role as ‘Windies’ assistant bowling coach.

The team management unit confirmed to support Coley is completed by team manager Rawl Lewis, physio Denis Byam, strength and conditioning coach Ronald Rogers, analyst Avenesh Seetaram and media officer Dario Barthley.

The Windies depart for Zimbabwe this coming weekend and are scheduled to land early next week ahead of a three-day warm-up match against a local side set for January 28 to 30.

The team led by captain Kraigg Brathwaite will then play 2 test matches against Zimbabwe at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo with the first test running from February 4 to 8, and the second match from February 12 to 16 before traveling to South Africa for their last two matches in the current ICC World Test Championship Cycle.

Following the test series the teams will again face-off in a three-match one day international series and three T/20 Internationals.
