Cabinet to finalize proposals for legislative amendments to the penalties applied in cases of murder on Monday
Prime Minister Andrew Holness says cabinet will be meeting on Monday, to finalize proposals for legislative amendments to the penalties applied in cases of murder.
Speaking at a fundraising dinner for the East Central St James education fund this weekend, the prime minister noted that government will be moving with speed and alacrity, to change the penalties around murder.
Mr Holness said murderers believe that they will get off lightly and as such, the penalties must be made more severe.
The prime minister said strong signals will be sent to criminals.
