JAS urges farmers to check with local suppliers in their parishes to source animal feed
The Jamaica Agricultural Society, JAS is urging poultry and livestock farmers to check with local animal feed suppliers in their parishes to determine who can meet their demand.
This as Hi-Pro, one of the country’s suppliers of animal feed in response to reports of a shortage of animal feed says its inventories are good and feed is available.
In a statement today (December 28), Hi-Pro assured that it is working with the agriculture ministry and other stakeholders including farm store operators to ensure that farmers’ needs for animal feed are met.
It said to this end it has been producing and delivering feed to customers in all parishes throughout the long holiday weekend and will continue to do so.
Speaking with Irie FM News JAS President Lenworth Fulton said all parishes have received animal feed and a number of farmers have accessed the resource.
