Health Ministry reports increase in acute respiratory infections
The health ministry is reporting an increase, in acute respiratory infections.
This has resulted, in an increase in hospital admissions, for such illnesses, including pneumonia .
Jamaica is in the flu season, which begins in October, and ends in march, and the ministry says increases in the number of cases, are expected.
Acting national epidemiologist Dr Ardene Harris notes, that mainly young children, are affected.
She says the viruses causing the respiratory infections, include Covid .
