Jamaicans to pay more for eggs and some vegetables this Christmas season
Jamaicans will have to fork out more money for eggs and some vegetables, this Christmas.
This as there is an increase in demand for the agricultural products.
President of the Jamaica Agricultural Society, Lenworth Fulton says the demand is driven by the recovery of the tourism sector among other things.
He says people could end up paying as much as $300 a pound for vegetables, such as tomatoes, and a little less for cabbage and lettuce.
Mr. Fulton says due to a projected increase in baking during the holiday, eggs will also cost more.
