Political commentator Linton Gordon has described aspects of the presentation by Prime Minister Andrew Holness, during the Jamaica Labour Party’s conference on Sunday, as playing the blame game.

Mr Gordon noted that, Mr Holness’ reference, to the government facing challenges, such as crime, due to actions taken by previous administrations in the 1970’s and 1990’s, may, or may not, work in his favour.

He drew parallels between the prime minister’s comments and earlier statements by National Security Minister Dr Horace Chang, about how the police force was treated in the past, by previous governments.

Mr Gordon expressed concern about the narrative used by Mr Holness in reference to crime and violence.

He said questions will be raised about why these issues were not addressed before now.
