New reggae boys head coach Heimir Hallgrimson to inject new philosophy

New reggae boys head coach Heimir Hallgrimson says his first order of business is to inject a fresh philosophy into the national senior men’s programme, which can be used as a template for the foreseeable future. 

The 55 year old who hails from Iceland was officially unveiled yesterday at the Jamaica Pegasus in Kingston, and explained that he and his staff along with the player’s at his disposal cannot be judged on what transpired in the past. 

He added that the local coaches in Jamaica will benefit from his expertise and nothing will be hidden insofar as his  coaching methodology is concerned. 

In the meantime Hallgrimmson also confirmed that captain and goalkeeper Andre Blake who was recently excluded from the squad to face Argentina, has been given the green light to travel and will be part of the delegation to New Jersey to face the Copa America champions on September 27

Philadelphia union stand out Blake who replaces the injured Joel Latibeaudiere  of Swansea city,   is one of four goal-keepers set to make the trip alongside Kemar Foster of Waterhouse, Dillon Barnes of queens park rangers and Jahmali Waite of Pittsburgh Riverhounds.
