Spoken Word category added to the 2023 Grammys
Members of the spoken word community will have a chance at copping a Grammy after Best Spoken Word Poetry Album is among the five new categories added.
According to the Grammy website, the Best Spoken Word Album has been split into separate categories for poetry and audio books/narration/storytelling.
The other new categories added are Best New Age, Ambient, or Chant Album, Songwriter of the Year, Best Alternative Music Performance, Best Americana Performance, and Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media covering film/TV and video games/interactive media.
The eligibility period for the Grammy process started on October 1, 2021, and will close on September 30 of this year.
However, according to the Grammy website, the online entry period which started on July 18, closed on August 31.
Meanwhile, nominations for the 2023 Grammys will be announced this year on Tuesday, November 15.
The first round of voting is set from October 13 to October 23 and a final round on December 14 to January 4, 2023.
The 2023 GRAMMYs will be held on Sunday, February 5 in Los Angeles.
