DCP Fitz Bailey says working in today’s criminal justice system is difficult due to prominence of social media
Deputy Commissioner of Police, D-C-P, in charge of the Crime and Security portfolio, Fitz Bailey says working within the criminal justice system in today’s society, where social media is prominent, is difficult.
Speaking during the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions’, 60th Anniversary church service, this morning (August 14), DCP Bailey said social media users who have no experience in crime fighting and the delivery of justice are seeking to determine how cases are investigated and tried.
He expressed concern about this growing issue.
DCP Bailey urged prosecutors not to let the influence of social media deter them from carrying out their jobs effectively.
DCP Bailey assured that the police will continue to work with the Director of Public Prosecutions, in the fight against crime.
