National census soon to be codified in law
The census, that‘s being undertaken by the Statistical Institute of Jamaica, Statin, will soon be codified into law.
The announcement was made today (July 26) by Finance Minister Dr. Nigel Clarke, as he gave an update to the lower house on the preparations for the conduct of the 2022 census exercise.
Dr. Clarke said among other things, over 7,000 people have been recruited to work as census takers.
The minister said in addition to the census being codified into law, September 12 will be declared national census day.
