Two women among 8 arrested in Joint Anti-gang Task Force operation in Portmore, St Catherine
Two women are among 8 people who were taken into custody during a major operation by the anti-gang task force in Portmore St Catherine this morning (July 22).
The operation that ended minutes before 11 also saw one motor vehicle being seized and a quantity of lead sheets.
Inspector Shaun–Jaye Mitchell told Irie Fm news that police also seized several devices including laptops and cellular phones.
He said the operation that was launched at around 7 in the Caribbean Estates area was to capture a particular target who is included in those arrested.
The names of the individuals are being with–held pending the laying of charges.
This is the second operation in an upscale community by the security forces this week.
On Wednesday the security forces arrested five alleged major players in the drug trafficking trade in early morning operations in Kingston and St James.
