More promoters plagued by the Night Noise Abatement Act are demanding a level playing field after being burnt by the system.

Dillon Reid, a member of Dynasty Entertainment Limited, the organizers of the event dubbed Elite, said despite being granted permission for a 2 am lock-off, law enforcement officials pulled the plug at 1:00 am on Saturday causing a premature end to the festivity held at the Constant Spring Golf Club last Friday.

In a Music News exclusive, Mr. Reid said they adhered to all the regulations, and paid the requisite fees to organizations such as JAMMS, JACAP, the Parish Council, Ambulance, and Fire Marshall, in addition to a public liability insurance fee.

Mr. Reid further lamented that in addition to the 2 am permit received, he was granted approval for an additional two hours by the Ministry of Culture Gender, Entertainment, and Sports, but that too was ignored.

Efforts by Music News to get a comment from the Ministry of Culture Gender, Entertainment, and Sports were futile.

For years, many entertainment practitioners have urged the government to implement entertainment zones as a possible solution to quell the ongoing issues with the night noise abatement act.

At present, events being held on the weekend can go up to 2 am and 4 am for clubs, while events being held on week days have up to midnight.
