Opposition expresses concern that Supreme Court’s judgement in SOE case has opened the door for more Jamaicans to make claims at cost to taxpayers
The Opposition, People’s National Party has expressed concern that the Supreme Court’s judgement in the case of Roshaine Clarke, has opened the door for more Jamaicans with similar cases to make claims.
Speaking with IRIE FM news, Opposition Spokesperson on Justice, Donna Scott Mottley says the 17.8 million dollars in damages awarded to Clarke, Speaks to the magnitude of the State’s potential liability if thousands of young men should take legal action.
This she lamented will be at a cost that would be borne by Jamaican taxpayers.
