Cabinet to discuss cancellation of Festival Song Competition
Cabinet is expected to discuss today (June 13), the cancellation of the Festival Song Competition this year and how to proceed.
News of the cancellation has sparked debate about how the process has been handled, especially against the background of the country’s 60th anniversary of independence.
The panel was unable to select 10 suitable songs for the competition. Only 3 of 123 submitted were deemed suitable.
Culture Minister, Olivia Grange announced at the weekend that the matter would be discussed by Cabinet.
