Jamaica records 253 new COVID-19 cases and 3 more COVID-19 deaths

Jamaica has recorded 253 new COVID-19 cases, pushing the country’s case count to 139,456.

 

Of the new cases, 151 are females and 102 are males.

 

They range in age from 81 days to 91 years.

 

St. James recorded the highest number of cases with 86, followed by Kingston and St. Andrew with 58.

 

The positivity rate has declined to 32 per cent.

 

Meantime, the Health and Wellness Ministry has reported three more deaths, pushing the COVID-19 death toll to 3,079.

 

The newly reported deaths occurred between April last year and this month.

 

The deceased are 3 males aged 82, 88 and 91.

 

They lived in Kingston and St. Andrew and Westmoreland.

 

123 people are hospitalized with the virus, among them, 26 are moderately ill, 8 are severely ill and 3 are critically ill.

 

105 more persons have recovered from the virus.
