8 people were shot, 1 fatally in Point Hill, St. Catherine, this morning.

The identity of the deceased has not been released.

Reports are that at about 12:45 A.M, persons were at a wake in the community when gunmen opened fire hitting 8 individuals.

The wounded people were taken to hospital, where a man succumbed.

The others are being treated.

Investigations continue.
