76.7 per cent of Jamaican candidates passed at least 1 CSEC subject in recent exams
Seventy six point seven per cent (76.7%) of Jamaican candidates who sat this year’s, Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate, CSEC exams passed at least 1 subject.
Education Minister Fayval Williams made the revelation at a CSEC and Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination, CAPE results press conference this morning (September 7).
She said of the 34 subjects sat, there were improvements in 12, compared to last year.
Mrs. Williams noted that there was a slight decrease in performances in Mathematics and English Language.
