7 y/o found with submachine gun at St. Elizabeth school, now in state care
The 7 year old child who was found in possession of a submachine gun at a school in St. Elizabeth yesterday, is now in the care of the Child Protection and Family Services Agency, CPFSA.
His siblings are also being safe guarded by the agency.
Chief Executive Officer of the CPFSA, Laurette Adams Thomas noted that the children are getting the necessary counselling and psychosocial support.
Mrs. Adams-Thomas has reminded parents of their responsibility to ensure that their children do not have access to dangerous or illegal items.
She said parents should check their children’s school bags regularly to ensure that they do not carry these items to school.
