7 shot, three fatally in separate incidents across the island, 2 children among wounded
Three people were shot and killed and four others, including two children, were shot and wounded in incidents across the island last night (December 05).
The first incident took place in Seaview Heights, in Priory, St. Ann at around 9 p.m.
The deceased is forty-one-year-old Karan Llewellyn, a security supervisor of Jacks River, in St. Mary.
Reports from the police are that Llewellyn and a woman were travelling in a Toyota Axio motor car along the roadway, when they were pounced upon by armed assailants who opened gunfire at them.
They were taken to the St. Ann’s Bay Hospital where Llewellyn succumbed and the woman was admitted for treatment.
Later at around 11: 20 p.m., two females were shot, one fatally, by unknown assailants in the Giblatore community of Bog Walk, St. Catherine.
The deceased is forty-six-year-old Karlene Wright, bartender of Norbrook, St. Andrew.
Reports are that about 10:30 p.m., Wright and the other woman were inside a yard when they were fired upon by gunmen.
The police were alerted.
Upon the arrival of the police, both wounded women were taken to the hospital where Wright was pronounced dead.
The other woman received a gunshot wound to her left leg and was treated and released.
And hours later, at approximately 3:00 a.m., three people were shot, one of them fatally at their home on Oxford Street, in Denham Town, Kingston.
The deceased has been identified as Mark McKenzie.
Irie Fm understands that the other wounded persons are both minors.
The Denham Town C.I.B. is investigating.
