674 murders recorded in Jamaica as at last Thursday
Jamaica recorded 674 murders as at Thursday, June 16.
This is 12 more than the 662 recorded, in the corresponding period, last year.
According to the Jamaica Constabulary Force, the St. James police division recorded the highest number of murders, with 107, followed by St. Catherine North with 70.
There were also increases in cases of robbery and break-ins.
Robberies increased by 26, from 401, to 427, while break-ins went up by 11, from 441, to 452
There was a decline in reported cases of rape, which went down by 37 from 223, to 186.
