A sixty-three year old man has been charged in relation to a 500 million US dollar drug bust in St. Andrew, last Wednesday.
He is Allan Constable, a property manager.
Reports are that at about 10:50am on Wednesday January 8, officers acting on information intercepted a motor vehicle at the gate of an apartment complex, in St. Andrew.
This led to the search of an apartment where 122 parcels of cocaine, weighing approximately 295 pounds were allegedly found.
The drug with an estimated street value of 78 billion Jamaican dollars was seized and Constable was charged with possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine, trafficking of cocaine, conspiracy to traffic cocaine and possession of criminal property.
Meanwhile, two days earlier, a tour operator of Little London, Westmoreland was charged following the seizure of 42 pounds of cocaine in St. James.
He is Christopher Keddo.
Keddo was reportedly nabbed during an intelligence-led anti-narcotics operation near a hotel in Lilliput.
Several drug related charges including possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine and conspiracy to export cocaine were laid against him.
Head of the Firearms and Narcotics Investigation Division, F-NID Superintendent Sam Blake said these operations highlight the division’s efforts to clamp down on criminal networks.
