629 murders recorded as at Sunday, June 5
Jamaica recorded 629 murders as of Sunday, June 5.
This is 34 more than the 595 recorded in the corresponding period last year.
According to the Jamaica Constabulary Force, St. James recorded the highest number of murders with 104, followed by Westmoreland with 63.
There were also increases in cases of robbery and break-ins.
Robberies increased by 13, from 382 to 395, while break-ins went up by 10, from 402 to 412.
There was a decline in reported cases of rape, which went down by 35 from 206 to 171.
