6 earthquakes recorded across Jamaica in the past 5 weeks

Jamaica has recorded 6 earthquakes in the past 5 weeks.

The latest quake, was reportedly felt in sections of Kingston and St. Andrew at 11:07 am, yesterday.

The magnitude 3.1 quake, was located approximately 10 kilometres south of Buff Bay, Portland.

It followed 5 other quakes, which were felt in the island recently.

A 3.5 magnitude quake was felt in Kingston, St. Andrew, and St. Catherine at 9: 53 am on Tuesday.

Before that, on August 27, a 4.0 magnitude quake was felt in Westmoreland, St. Elizabeth and St. Catherine.

Three other quakes were felt in the island in August.

They had magnitudes of 2.9, 4.5 and 5.3

They were felt in St. Andrew, St. Thomas, Portmore, Kingston and other sections of the island.

There was no report of injury or damage.
