A 52 year old St. Ann woman has been charged with embezzlement in relation to an incident in Claremont, earlier this year.

She is Florient Casserly, a customer service representative of Lydford, Golden Grove.

Police say Casserly was a cashier at an establishment in the area.

Her task was collecting bill payments from customers, processing the transactions, and issuing receipts.

She allegedly waited until the customers left, then used her supervisor’s login to void the customers’ transactions and kept the money for herself.

Her employer, acting on information from concerned customers, conducted an investigation and discovered that she had embezzled $3.38 million over some time.

A report was made after she failed to hand over the money.

Casserly was charged after a question-and-answer session with her attorney.
