The 5 year old girl who perished in a house fire in Whitehall Avenue St. Andrew yesterday, has been identified as Kimberly Harrison.

The child was at home with relatives, including 2 physically challenged adults, when the house became engulfed.

Residents rescued the 2 adults, but were unable to reach Kimberly.   

The fire brigade and police were summoned and the girl’s charred remains were found in the bathroom. 

Assistant Superintendent Courtney Thompson of the York Park fire station noted that Kimberly would have most likely succumbed due to smoke inhalation. 

He said the cause of the blaze is being investigated.
