Four men are dead after they were shot along Waltham Park Road, in St. Andrew last evening.

Their names have not been released.

One man is wounded in hospital.

Police say the incident reportedly occurred at around 7:50 pm.

The group of men was reportedly at a location in the area when armed men opened gunfire hitting them.

They were taken to hospital where 4 were pronounced dead and the other man admitted for treatment.

In a release last evening, the police advised that sections of Waltham Park Road and Bay Farm Road in Kingston 11 were closed due to the incident.

According to the advisory, the closure was to facilitate the necessary investigations.

Members of the public were urged to use alternate routes.
