479 people murdered in Jamaica up to September 13
Four hundred and seventy nine (479) people were murdered in Jamaica up to Saturday, September 13.
According to the latest data from the Jamaica Constabulary Force, this is 350 fewer than the 829 murders recorded, in the same period last year.
The St. Andrew South Police Division, had the highest number of murders with 56, followed by St. Catherine South with 43.
Portland had the least with 8, followed by Trelawny with 9.
The police are also reporting that rape cases declined by 79.
Meanwhile, robberies went up by 53 and break-ins increased by 165.
