Over 4000 farmers in St. Elizabeth are set to benefit from a major irrigation upgrade, under the Pedro Plains Irrigation Expansion Project.

Speaking at the official ground breaking ceremony, Mayor of Black River, Richard Solomon said the initiative is expected to boost agricultural productivity significantly across the parish.

He also assured that the project is being carried out in accordance with environmental sustainability requirements, stressing that measures are being taken to minimize ecological impact.
