4 Y/O in state care following fire which claimed life of 1 Y/O in Kingston on Saturday
The Child Protection and Family Services Agency, CPFSA, says it has taken a four-year-old boy into its care, following a house fire off Mountain View Avenue, Kingston on Saturday, which claimed the life of a 1 year old.
The deceased child has been identified as Saden Ennis.
Reports are that the two children were left at the house unattended when a fire broke out.
The 1 year old died, while the 4 year old escaped.
Chief Executive Officer CEO of the CPFSA Laurette Adams-Thomas, stated that the four-year-old survivor has been impacted severely by the traumatic experience.
She said the CPFSA is coordinating with other government agencies to assist the family to replace essential documents and items lost in the fire, such as birth certificates, school supplies, and clothing.
Mrs. Adams-Thomas also urged parents to never leave children unattended.
