36.6% reduction in murders
There is a 36.6 per cent reduction in murders.
According to the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), 225 murders were recorded up to Saturday, April 26, 130 fewer than the 355 recorded in the same period last year.
The St. Andrew South division had the highest number of murders with 31, followed by St. Catherine South with 22.
Hanover and Trelawny saw the lowest number of murders with 4 each.
The JCF is also reporting that cases of rape declined by 70 and robberies by 11.
Meanwhile, break-ins increased by 69.
