31-yo man accused of robbing trading company employees of millions of dollars in Montego Bay, St. James arrested and charged
A 31-year-old butler is to face the court soon to answer to charges relating to the multi-million dollar robbery of two employees of a trading company in St. James, some three months ago.
Nicoy Ramsay, otherwise called ‘Nick’ of Esher in Hanover, has been charged with robbery with aggravation and unlawful wounding.
Reports are that at about 8: 30 PM on June 24, the two workers were travelling in a motor truck along the intersection of Upper Bevin Avenue and Market Circle, in Montego Bay.
It is alleged that Ramsay and another man, who were both armed, attacked the workers and robbed them of approximately $7 million.
One of the attackers also allegedly hit and wounded the driver of the motor truck.
The incident was reported to the police, and an investigation was immediately launched.
On Wednesday, September 17, Ramsay, accompanied by his attorney, surrendered at the Negril police station in Westmoreland.
Ramsay was then handed over to detectives in St. James.
He was pointed out during an identification parade and charged.
A court date is being finalised.
