Over 300 members of the homeless population in Kingston were treated today by the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation, at the annual feeding event.

Mayor of Kingston Andrew Swaby said the event also featured motivational speeches, to give the persons hope and encouragement for the new year.

Today’s event was held at the Saint William Grant Park.

Mayor Swaby said the corporation is looking at the possibility of having a designated area set up for all feeding of homeless persons.

He noted that having a designated space for feeding will allow for other entities or groups that feed the homeless to also use it, thereby reduce duplication and littering.
