Three men were fatally shot by the police, during an alleged confrontation in Salem, Runaway Bay St. Ann, last evening. 

Assistant Commissioner of the Independent Commission of Investigations, INDECOM, Hamish Campbell said reports suggest that sometime after 8 pm, the police were conducting an operation in the area when they came under fire from gunmen. 

He said the police returned fire and the men were hit.

148 people have been fatally shot by members of the security forces since the start of the year.
