273 White-plated vehicles, which were being operated illegally as Uber and inDrive taxis, were seized by the Transport Authority in the past three months.

Managing Director Ralston Smith says the seizures were made islandwide during the Authority’s enforcement drive.

Noting that it is illegal for vehicles other than red plates to operate as taxis, Mr. Smith says several operators have been prosecuted.

He is urging commuters not to travel with operators of these vehicles, as it is unsafe.
