Security Minister says autopsies to be done every day of the week at New Forensic Pathology Autopsy suite
Minister of National Security Dr Horace Chang has sought to assure that postmortems will be conducted every day of the week, at the new Forensic Pathology Autopsy Suite.
He made the comment Thursday at the opening ceremony for the suite in downtown Kingston.
The new facility is expected to increase the forensic capacity of the Jamaica Constabulary Force and reduce the backlog of criminal and other cases.
The project cost government about 6 hundred and 80 million dollars.
Dr Chang said this facility will provide quality evidence.
Noting the backlog of 300,000 cases, Dr Chang said the new suite can handle the volume.
