25-year-old man charged for shooting death of 9 y/o boy in Clarendon
A 25-year-old man accused of killing 9-year-old Shamar Walker in Clarendon in January, is to face the court later this month.
Joel Williams who is charged for the child’s murder will also answer to charges relating to the wounding of a female shopkeeper in the same incident.
Police say at around 7: 45 pm on January 26, Shamar was among a group of people at a yard when Williams allegedly entered and opened gunfire at them.
Shamar ran but was chased and shot.
When the shooting subsided, a woman was also seen with gunshot wounds.
The police were summoned and Shamar and the woman were taken to hospital where the child was pronounced dead.
The woman was admitted in stable condition.
Williams who was later charged, is to appear before the May Pen parish court on Thursday, March 28.
