Kishane Thompson on entry list for Silesia Diamond League
Silver medalist Kishane Thompson is one of three Olympic medals winners in a large contingent of 16 Jamaican athletes showing on the entry list for the upcoming Silesia Diamond League meeting in Poland.
Thompson, in his first outing since Paris 2024, will contest the men’s 100m event where he is joined in the starting blocks by compatriots Ackeem Blake and Rohan Watson.
The stacked field that is comparable to a global final also includes Olympic bronze medalist Fred Kerley, former champion Lamont Marcel Jacobs, Christian Coleman and Ferdinand Omanyala.
The women’s 100m meanwhile has Natasha Morrison and Olympic finalist Tia Clayton lined up against the likes of Marie Josee Ta Lou-Smith, Daryl Neita and Dina Asher-Smith.
Also in action will be Olympic silver medalist Shanieka Ricketts and Ackelia Smith in the women’s triple jump, while Olympic bronze medalist Rajindra Campbell is listed for the men’s shot put.
Reigning world champion Danielle Williams and Olympic finalist Ackera Nugent are showing on the entry list for the women’s 100m hurdles that features newly crowned Olympic champion Masai Russell, silver medalist Cyrena Samba-Mayela and former world record holder Kendra Harrison.
The men’s 400m hurdles features Jaheel Hyde and Roshawn Clarke going up against world record holder Karsten Warholm while in the women’s 400m hurdles Olympic finalists Rushell Clayton and Shian Salmon along with Andrennette Knight will take on dutch star Femke Bol and Olympic silver medalist Anna Cockrell.
Olympic champion Letsile Tebogo of Botswana will contest the men’s 200m where he will face silver medal winner Kenneth Bednarek and American compatriot Erriyon Knighton.
The Silesia Diamond League meet takes place on August 30 and is the 12th stop on the 15 meet Diamond League schedule.
