21-year-old Westmoreland mechanic to appear in court for gun-related offences
A 21-year-old Westmoreland mechanic is to face the courts in relation to several gun-related offences.
Alex Hill of Grange Hill, has been charged with wounding with intent, possession of prohibited weapon and using a firearm to commit a felony.
The charges stemmed from an incident in Linten Pen in the parish on June 5 last year.
Police report that at about 11:30 p.m., a man was at home, when he heard a knocking on his kitchen window.
He went to make checks and reportedly saw Hill standing in his yard with a firearm in his hand.
Hill reportedly opened gunfire at the complainant, who ran inside his bedroom.
After the shooting subsided, the man discovered that he had received a gunshot wound to his right foot.
He was assisted to hospital, where he was treated and released.
Following the investigation, Hill was identified as a suspect.
He was arrested by the police in Geneva district, in Grange Hill during a police operation.
