A man has been arrested and charged in relation to the murder of Gibbs Williams the former west indies under 19 team manager who was shot dead at a Medical Complex Portmore, St Catherine last Friday.

Charged is 21 year old Jerome Hayles, of Kingston 13.

The announcement was made by head of the St. Catherine South Police Division, Senior Superintendent Christopher Philips.  

The SSP also reported that several other persons were taken into custody in relation to the murder.

Williams, who was the  vice-principal of academics at the g c foster college of physical education and sport, also managed Jamaica to double regional under 19 championship success.

The 55 year old was most recently involved with the west indies under 19 team for the recent three-test series in Sri Lanka.
