The Court of Appeal has quashed the convictions against Tesha Miller on charges of accessory before and accessory after the fact to the 2008 murder of then Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) Chairman Douglas Chambers.

The ruling was handed down this morning.

Tesha Miller was sentenced in 2020 to 38 years and 9 months for accessory before the fact to murder and 18 months for accessory after the fact to murder.

The sentences were running concurrently.

One of Miller’s attorneys Isat Buchanan told IRIE FM News that the application for leave to appeal was granted and a retrial was ordered.

In the meantime Attorney Bert Samuels who represented Miller during the trial and also consulted during the appeal, said he is awaiting the written judgement.

He expressed delight at the court’s decision.
