4 officers injured after police vehicle collided with dislodged container in Runaway Bay

Four police officers are being treated at hospital, after the vehicle they were travelling in, collided with a container which had dislodged from a trailer truck, along the Runaway Bay main road, in St. Ann this morning.

Their injuries are not considered serious.

Head of the St. Ann Police Deputy Superintendent Rohan Elliot told Irie FM News that he received a call about the incident which occurred near the Bahia Principe Hotel, at about 10:15am.

He said the trailer truck was travelling westerly, when the container became dislodged and hit an unmarked police vehicle, which was travelling in the opposite direction. 

He is urging road users to exercise caution at all times.
