West Indies and Jamaica all-rounder Rovman Powell is set to participate in the upcoming Guyana Global Super League after he was signed by reigning Ilt20 champions Dubai Capitals.
The former West Indies T20 captain and Ilt20 final MVP, is expected to be the center piece of the Capitals’ high-octane batting lineup for the July 10 to 18 competition.
The Dubai Capitals in the meantime have assembled a dynamic squad featuring a potent mix of international stars and Caribbean firepower for the Guyana-based tournament.
Joining Powell in the high-power squad are Barbados-born big-hitter Kadeem Alleyne and left-arm pacer Dominic Drakes.
Also in the squad are Pakistani pacer Farhan Khan, Canadian left-armer Kaleem Aanaur Rahman, and UAE’s Zeeshan Naseer. Sri Lankan wicketkeeper-batter Niroshan Dickwella, along with Afghanistan’s Sediqullah Atal, and South African spinner Keshav Maharaj .
The Dubai Capital will open their campaign with a blockbuster clash against Australia’s Hobart Hurricanes on July 11 at the Guyana National Stadium in Providence.
They are among the five Elite Franchises down to compete alongside Rangpur Riders of Bangladesh, Central Stags of New Zealand and host team Guyana Amazon Warriors.
