He was speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion of Loshusan Supermarket New Kingston, formerly John R Wong.

The minister acknowledged that there are issues within the local authorities but noted that positive strides are being made.

He pointed to the 6% increase in building applications submitted to the local authorities last year when compared to 2023.

Last year’s total submissions represent an investment of $87.7 billion.

3,598 permits were issued, representing revenue of $149.7 billion.
