The Jamaica Poetry Festival (JPF) will be celebrating its 15th anniversary on Sunday, August 10, 2025.
This year’s event will take place at the University of Technology (UTech) Amphitheatre. Founded by dub poet Yasus Afari, JPF has evolved into one of the Caribbean’s best literary and cultural events, blending poetry, music, dance, and community outreach.
This year’s staging will feature Professor Mervyn Morris, Mutabaruka, Tony Gregory, Hugo Barrington, and Vivian Crawford, who will receive the JPF 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award.
Festivities will begin at 10am with a Creative Arts Workshop and Open Mic session. A highlight of the day will be the Poetree for Charity – Visions of Hope Dinner with proceeds going toward the JPF-UTech Students’ Welfare Initiative.
Show starts at 7 pm.
