A truck driver has been hospitalised after the vehicle he was operating along the Winston Jones Highway in Manchester this morning, got out of control and crashed.
Reports are that about 10:00 A.M. the truck laden with asphalt was travelling along the road when it overturned.
The driver was pinned in the mangled vehicle.
The police and firefighters were summoned and with assistance from passers-by they removed the man from the truck and transported him to hospital.
He is in serious but stable condition.
An eyewitness said the truck driver upon realising something was wrong with the vehicle, alerted other road users to the danger.
Meanwhile, another motorist likened the crash to the passing of a hurricane.
