Emmy winning Jamaican –  American Hollywood actress Sheryl Lee Ralph was officially honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday (April 16, 2025).

The award celebrates her outstanding career, which spans more than four decades in theater, film and television and advocacy.

Ralph’s breakout moment came with her starring role in the original 1981 Broadway production of Dreamgirls, where she performed alongside Jennifer Holliday and Loretta Devine.

An ageless stalwart, in 2022, Ralph took home an Emmy as a first-time nominee at the age of 66, for best supporting actress in a comedy for her role as Barbara Howard, a beloved, matriarchal Kindergarten teacher on “Abbott Elementary.”

Ralph was supported by family, friends and co-stars at the ceremony held at 6623 Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, California.
