Another alleged 7’s gang member fatally shot by police

Another alleged top-tier member of the notorious 7’s gang, was shot and killed during a confrontation with lawmen this morning.

Dead is 24-year-old Kirk Holton otherwise known as “Sugar” of Pician Valley, Red Hills and Waltham Park both in St. Andrew.

Police say Holton had been implicated in multiple murders and shootings across the St. Andrew Central and St. Andrew South police divisions. 

He was reportedly  involved in a range of gang-related activities, including contract killings.

Holton was also linked to the quadruple murder on Ayshire Avenue, Kingston 10, which occurred on November 25, 2024.

According to reports, at about 4:50 this morning police conducted a targeted operation in Red Hills.

During the operation, Holton allegedly confronted the police and was fatally shot.

A .38 revolver, along with a magazine containing three cartridges, was found at the scene and seized by lawmen.

Yesterday, Shacqol Pounal, otherwise called ‘track star’, of Content Avenue, Kingston 10 who is also said to be a member of the 7’s gang was fatally shot by police.

Pounal was a person of interest in several incidents, including, the quadruple murder on Ayshire Avenue, last November.

The JCF says the 7’s gang, which operates in sections of Waltham Park, had issued threats of reprisal in response to Pounal’s death.

Speaking to Irie Fm News this morning, Area Four Commander Assistant Commissioner of Police Michael Phipps assured that his officers are not deterred by any threat and are equipped to defend themselves.
