Three persons, who police believe were linked to a recent gun attack in Hart Street in Montego Bay, were fatally shot during an alleged confrontation in St. James today.
The identities of the deceased have not been released.
Acting head of the St. James police Senior Superintendent Carlos Russell said the 3 were shot when cops carried out an operation in the West Village housing scheme.
Two guns were recovered during the incident.
Last Friday, gunmen opened fire on a group of people along Hart Street,
Nine persons were shot, one fatally.
The deceased was identified as 28 year old Exodus Dunkley of Flagstaff.
National Security minister, Dr. Horace Chang then advised the police to expend every effort to find and bring to justice the perpetrators of the crime.
It’s reported that the Hart Street shooting is believed to have been an act of reprisal for the killing of a gangster’s relative last year.
