Three British nationals are to face the courts soon after they were reportedly caught with drugs valuing about 118.7 million Jamaican dollars.
They were held at the Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) in Kingston and the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St. James.
They are 50-year-old Nigel Manning of Northumberland in London, England, 51-year-old Derrick Winston and 41-year-old Lisa Wood, both of Sand Way Road, Orrington, England.
The three have been charged with possession of cocaine, dealing in cocaine, attempting to export cocaine and conspiracy.
The latest incident, which involved Manning, happened at Sangster on Thursday.
Reports are that at about 3:20 PM, members of the Firearms and Narcotics Investigation Division were conducting a security screening at the facility for passengers boarding a flight, destined for the London Gatwick Airport.
During the screening, Manning’s actions reportedly aroused the suspicion of the lawmen.
A search of his luggage reportedly revealed seven frozen coconuts containing approximately nine pounds of cocaine.
Police say the drug has an estimated street value of 26 million dollars.
The previous day, March 12, Winston and Wood were reportedly caught attempting to smuggle over 31.5 pounds of cocaine collectively at the NMIA.
Police say this is the first seizure at the NMIA since the start of the year.
The illicit drug has an estimated street value of 92.7 million dollars.
