The Integrity Commission, (IC) says it has welcomed Norman Brown’s decision not to file a claim for judicial review.

On January 14, 2025 Mr. Brown, a business associate of Andrew Holness, was granted approval by the court to apply for judicial review against decisions in the investigation report into the statutory declarations submitted by the prime minister for the years 2019 to 2022.

Mr. Brown also applied for judicial review on other grounds but lost most of them.

In a statement today, the IC said under the rules of court, Mr Brown had fourteen days to file a claim for judicial review.

It said this period expired last Wednesday January 29 as Mr Brown did not file a claim.

According to the Integrity Commission, Mr Brown’s attorneys formally indicated to the Supreme Court that he does not intend to pursue the claim.

The IC said while it believes it would have been successful if Mr. Brown had brought a claim against it, it welcomes his decision not to proceed with the matter.
